By Fred Balin, Palo Alto – The ball is in Gordon's court.
Two nasty, misleading attack mailers aimed at Yoriko Kishimoto and funded by $70,000 from the South Bay Labor Council rudely slap the State Assembly District 21 Democratic primary campaign into a window of sharp insight and pivotal decision.

Palo Alto Online - Fri, 05/28/2010

By Yoriko Kishimoto – The South Bay Labor Council has spent over $70,000 to fund negative mailers that mislead the public about my transportation record — specifically stating that I fought against improved public transportation for Santa Clara County and have "obstructed" a mass transit system.

By Will Oremus – Editor's Note: This is the second in a three-part series profiling the Democratic candidates for the 21st state Assembly District.

The first day of elementary school is scary for everyone. For Yoriko Kishimoto, who came to the United States from Japan at age 6 without a knowing word of English, it was terrifying.

Mon, 05/24/10: By Andy Chow, Redwood City – As a longtime Caltrain rider and advocate, I fully support Yoriko Kishimoto for Assembly District 21. Not only does she put Caltrain and other cost-effective transit improvements as one of her top priorities, she also worked with nearby cities on the Peninsula to be actively engaged with the high-speed rail planning process.

Wed. 05/19/10: By Brielle Johnck, Menlo Park – Union's hit piece on Kishimoto is off base. On May 14, I received a flier from the South Bay AFL-CIO Labor Council in San Jose that slams Yoriko Kishimoto, candidate for the 21st Assembly District seat based on her alleged obstruction of high-speed rail. As a former Palo Alto mayor who has worked on regional transit policy, Kishimoto realized early the complicated issues regarding high-speed rail and its impact on the mid-Peninsula. She took the leadership to create the Peninsula Cities Consortium that consists of representatives of cities in our area most likely to be affected by high-speed rail. Kishimoto is not an anti-high-speed rail activist, nor a knee-jerk proponent. As an experienced elected official, she has become an advocate for greater transparency and more public involvement in the planning process.

The Almanac - Wed, 05/05/2010

By Gennady Sheyner – Of the three Democrats running for Ira Ruskin's seat in the 21st Assembly District, Yoriko Kishimoto is the only one who can boast of being a "proven futurist."

Sat 05/01/10: By Alice M. Frayne, San Jose – Kishimoto is an ideal Assembly candidate. As a lifetime user of public transit for 76 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have spent thousands of hours at government meetings, watching the stark decimation of public transit.
