Supporter Letters to the Editor
Mon, 05/24/10: By Andy Chow, Redwood City – As a longtime Caltrain rider and advocate, I fully support Yoriko Kishimoto for Assembly District 21. Not only does she put Caltrain and other cost-effective transit improvements as one of her top priorities, she also worked with nearby cities on the Peninsula to be actively engaged with the high-speed rail planning process.
Kishimoto understands that we need sensible planning and community involvement to make transit work. We need a representative in Sacramento who will support public transportation because of the environmental and mobility benefits to our communities, rather than the special interests.

Wed, 05/26/10: By Winter Dellenbach, Palo Alto – A single days mail says it all. I received two campaign flyers - one from Yoriko Kishimoto and one from Josh Becker, candidates for the 21st Assembly District.
Kishimoto's flyer is full of detailed information addressing two critical issues, education and the economy. The piece is laden with facts to inform the recipient. It lists her experience and position on the issues, and states why she will be effective in representing us in Sacramento.
In contrast, Becker's leaflet is mostly empty, as devoid of information about issues and his qualifications to address them as he seems to be. Large photos picture him alongside national politicians, as if a photo-op with a political celebrity is a substitute for actual experience in governance needed to address the complex and dire issues confronting us.
Will we elect someone of real substance with a long track record of intelligent and effective governance? Or will we be sucked in by the expensive campaign of a novice, financed mostly, according to news reports, by Silicon Valley corporations and their minions who cannot even vote for their man, due to living outside the District?
I plan to vote for Yoriko Kishimoto, well qualified, smart as a whip, and deeply committed to being part of the solution.
