Supporter Letter to the Editor
Sat 05/01/10: By Alice M. Frayne, San Jose – Kishimoto is an ideal Assembly candidate. As a lifetime user of public transit for 76 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have spent thousands of hours at government meetings, watching the stark decimation of public transit.
VTA Board of Directors member Yoriko Kishimoto, who is running for the 21st Assembly seat (Yoriko4assembly.org), stands out in her breadth of knowledge about VTA issues and solutions. She was the founding chair of the Peninsula Cities Consortium, a coalition of five cities to create a united and informed voice to protect Caltrain service and to speak for community values in negotiations with the High-Speed Rail Authority.
Her work on business and education, as well as her appointment as chair of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District's Climate Protection Committee, plus her talent for forging coalitions for positive change, all add up to an ideal candidate. She has my vote and she deserves yours.
